BOUNTIFUL—Owen Hughes is carrying on a family tradition. Following in the footsteps of his brother and sister, Hughes was named one of Utah’s top two youth volunteers of 2020 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism.
Hughes, an eighth grader at Bountiful Junior High, decided to redesign the library at Valor House, a facility for veterans near the University of Utah campus, into a game room.
